Patchwork designs seem to be appearing in many types of art, and kimonos also appear popular.
Most recently I saw some of Catherine Foster’s Metal Artwork with patchwork and quilting designs.
In a previous post, I called attention to Jafabrit’s spectacular Wooden Kimono Quilt.

As I was browsing around various blogs containing quilting references, I discovered Jafabrit’s Art and her spectacular Wooden Quilt Kimono. A coat of many colors!
I haven’t learned yet just how Jafabrit has constructed it. However, I clicked on the photo and got a close up showing the stitching between the pieces. This reminded me somewhat of crazy quilt construction.

Barn quilts, made of large, colorful wooden blocks, generally 8-foot square, are located throughout Sac County, Iowa on historic barns and corncribs. These designs, painted in primary colors, are ones connected with agriculture, farm animals, and rural life.
