Printing Photos on Fabric for Your Quilting

Yesterday I posted my daughter Beth’s photo of lilacs and a butterfly as a possible inspiration for quilting.  I didn’t realize at the time Beth was printing the photo on fabric for the final panel of her round robin book project.
When I saw her compiling the pages today and spied the butterfly and lilacs, I […]

More Round Robin Quilting Pages

If you’ve been following the Fiber Explorers’ Round Robin pages (they’re making books for this session), my daughter Beth has posted more at her Meandering Threads blog, under a post, More Round Robin Pages.
It’s always fun to see what Beth is making and the pages others in the group create for her “Nature” book.  Here’s […]

A Fairy for a Quilting Project

As I watched my daughter make a fairy for the Round Robin quilt book project her Fiber Explorers group is undertaking, I was amazed.  The theme for the book she had to work on this session was Art Paper Dolls.
I think this is lovely, and even the photo shows the three-dimensional effect.

Now maybe I’m prejudiced because […]

More Round Robin Quilting

Here’s the latest creation Beth made for the Round Robin her fiber arts group (Fiber Explorers) are doing.  She made it as a page for Carmen’s book with the them of “In the Woods.” Since we have trillium among the wild flowers growing the three acres of woodland around our home, it seemed appropriate to […]

Round Robin Quilt Saga Continued

Beth’s fiber arts group has completed another segment in their Round Robin quilts.  She posted some photos, at her Meandering Threads blog, of work they’ve accomplished so far.
Each quilter is contributing a page to one another’s books.  They also selected themes for their books which the contributors are carrying out.
It’s very interesting to see the […]

Round Robin Books of Quilting

I mentioned previously that my daughter’s fiber art group decided to create fabric books for their Round Robin project this year.  From time to time Beth posts some of the work on her Meandering Threads blog.
After their second trade, these are some of the interesting creations the ladies are making.  They’ve each chosen a theme […]

Information About Round Robins for Quilters

I’ve come across a variety of Round Robins, whereby a quilt or fabric art piece, makes the round of the artists, with each adding to it. These can be conducted among quilters who meet online or those who gather in person periodically.
*Fabric books, such as my daughter mentions at Meandering Threads.  Each fiber artist contributes a […]

Round Robins for Quilters & Fabric Artists

Round Robins, sending a piece of quilting, a hanging, a fabric postcard or similar project around among chosen quilters who add something to it, have become poipular.  They can be conducted with online quilters (sent on its rounds through the mail) or among fabric artists in a group who meet periodically.
My daughter has participated in both and enjoys them […]

Round Robin Quilting & Fabric Art

Previously I mentioned the Round Robin my daughter’s local group was conducting. Occasionally Beth posted a photo of a Round Robin fiber art piece she was working on.  The artists are displaying the finished pieces as the Round Robin Collection at their exhibit at the Artistic Roots Art Center at Campton, NH.  Beth also has photos of these for […]

Round Robin Quilts - Before & After Photos

Quilters who haven’t participated in a Round Robin quilt exchange, and even those who have, like to see the before and after photos of these projects.  My daughter and other members of her small art quilting group recently completed their quilt hangings.
It was interesting to see what had happened to my daughter’s after the five […]
