In addition to quiltmaking ideas and patterns, the quilters of days ago shared various tasty goodies at their get-togethers. My grandfather, in writing about his mother and her neighbors at their quilting bees, mentioned their having tea. I imagine Great Grandmother and her neighbors served more than a beverage.

Quilting bees have been with us since pioneer days. These often were social occasions when neighbors helped one another finish their quilts, as well as getting together to chat.
