Are Appliqued Quilts More Elegant?

It was interesting to note, as I read about the history of quiltmaking in Twentieth Century Quilts, 1900-1950, by Thomas K. Back to Basics - Two Types of Quilts

To make a pieced quilt top, the quiltmaker cut patches of specific shapes and sewed together to create a design throughout the quilt.
Quiltmakers created appliqued […]

Creating Quilting Note Cards

I enjoy collecting stationery and writing notes, whether on postcards or note paper.  Those with quilting designs particularly enchant me.  Now I’ve begun making my own.
Simply take photos of your quilts and fabric art, scan it into your computer, or enter directly from your digital camera.  Then print out as stationery, note cards or postcards […]

A Graduation Gift Quilt

Today at a graduation party for a friend’s son, we saw a quilt that captivated my 11-year old grandson and interested me, too.  This was a gift made for the graduate of fleece fabrics and personalized with fire fighter designs.
He’s been involved in a fire fighting program for young people since he was 14-years old, […]
