Quilting Word of the Week - Patchwork
WORD OF THE WEEK
Patchwork - Often the words quilting and patchwork are used interchangeably. However, there is a difference. Patchwork refers to the practice of sewing pieces (patches) of fabric together in various designs to make a quilt top or some other item.
Some researchers think the idea of patching worn bed covers with pieces of fabric originally gave rise to the term patchwork. Then as bed covers were made entirely of patches, the word took on new meaning.
What type of patchwork do you enjoy doing most?
