The Appeal & Versatility of Patchwork Printed Fabric
When you don’t have time to stitch pieces of fabric together for quilts, clothing, and fabric art, try using patchwork printed fabric. There are some interesting designs out there that look lovely in your quilting and patchwork.
I have a skirt made from patchwork printed denim type fabric. It’s in mauve, greens, tan, white and navy (similar to the colors in the design at left). Some of the patches are plaid, others plain, and still more have a floral design. They give the appearance of being sewn together with crazy quilt type stitches.
I’ve had this skirt for years. It wears well, travels well, can be dressed up or down, and still brings me compliments whenever I wear it. I wore it today as my husband and I traveled from Wisconsin to our home in New Hampshire. With a white tee, mauve jacket, and navy shoes, I was comfortable and felt good.
If you haven’t tried using patchwork printed fabrics for projects, consider it now!
