Thursday Thirteen - 13 Star Quilt Patterns
Throughout quilting history, there have been numerous quilt patterns with the word “star” in them. Many are very intricate with a multitude of tiny pieces. Others, like the one now on our bed that originally I made for my mother-in-law, have larger star points and pieces.
I thought it fun to list at least 13 star quilt patterns for a Thursday Thirteen post.
- Star of Bethlehem
- Missouri Star
- Lone Star
- Ohio Star
- Morning Star
- Evening Star
- Star and Planets
- Union Star
- Five-Pointed Star
- Star Upon Star
- Virginia’s Star
- Le Moyne Star
- Eight-Pointed Star
Do you have a favorite star pattern? It doesn’t have to be one that you’ve made. It might simply be one that appeals to you in design. It “talks” to you or brings back memories.

I won a beautiful quilt recently but wasn’t given the name of the pattern. It has rows of large eight-pointed stars with smaller eight-pointed stars at the intersections of the larger stars. Does it have a particular title? Thanks in advance, Virginia
