Beading Retreats…Do Quilters Attend These?
Cyndi at Layers Upon Layers announced, “I’m going on a beading retreat.“
Now I’ve heard of many types of retreats, but never one for beaders before. I’m looking forward to Cyndi’s report about her trip to this event about halfway across the USA from where she lives.
Quilters have begun to find beads important as embellishments in their work. My daughter collects beads and even makes them to add interest to her quilt hangings and fabric art.
What have you been doing with beads? Have you ever attended a “beading retreat?”

Beading is the nEW thing! I have literally put 30 pounds on a quilt just by beading the background and the figures or by putting buttons on the background. It add color, texture and FUN.

Thanks, Mary Lou, for stopping by Quilting and Patchwork and sharing your experience with beading. I’ve been fascinated by quilts with pounds of beading and/or buttons on them and vow I’ll do something like that on some of my work. So far I’ve started getting my embellishments all in one place! My daughter puts quite a few on some of her work, but hasn’t gotten into several pounds yet.
