Yes I have read The New Year’s Quilt. To be honest I was rather disappointed with it. Like the Christmas quilt before it, so much of the book deals with Sylvia’s dreams of times past. So much of the book covered or should I say recovered parts of the story that those of us who are avid elmcreek readers are already familiar with and have read several times over in the other books. As far as I can see a cheap way of getting us all to buy another book. It saddens me to say this as I love the Elmcreek books. They inspired me to start quilting but I do feel that Jennifer takes her readers for granted with these “fill in” books

Thank you, Michele, for your input on Jennifer’s latest book. I’ll have to read it and see what I think. Sometimes it becomes difficult for an author, after they’ve written many books in a series, to write a completely new one and get just the right amount of introductory material (regarding characters and background) for new readers and not overdo for those who have read the whole series.
