Responding to Visitors on Your Quilting Blog
Do you like to make connection with other quilters and fabric artists? Do you enjoy having them visit your blog and leave comments, so you can visit their blog or web site?
Whether you have a number of visitors to your blog, with many of them coming for repeat visits, may depend on how you respond to their comments.
“Mary, I appreciate you responding to my comments on your blog by e-mail, as well as on the blog,” a viewer mentioned. “I feel as though I know you.”
I hadn’t thought much about it before this. However, since I wasn’t sure whether my viewers who leave comments stop back to see if I have responded, I thought I should let them know I appreciate their stopping by. Also, it’s important to get back to them, I feel, if they are asking questions.
(I’ve also noticed that bloggers who have a many comments on their blog usually try to respond to everyone. And some have responded to me personally as well.)
This could be one way you develop a network of quilting friends, and satisfied customers when your blog is connected to your business. Let them know you are concerned enough to find answers, take care of their concerns, and develop rapport
Perhaps this practice may be something that was ingrained in me years ago. My mother had us children sit down at the dining table with pen and note paper the day after Christmas, birthdays, and other occasions when we received gifts. A “thank you” was expected. So perhaps it seems just simply sign of appreciation to touch bases with people who visit my blog.
What are your thoughts about this?
