Beth continues to make “inchies” for herself and for trading in her group. In addition to being fascinating little pieces of art, they’re a way to experiment with new techniques without wasting a great deal of fabric and art materials.
These are inchies she made to send as trades.
A friend was looking at these and suggested […]

One of my daughter’s favorite magazines for ideas and updates is Cloth Paper Scissors. The current issue (July?August 2007) contains more than 50 pages of mixed media techniques. There’s also an article, “A Year Captured in Fabric,” about fabric collage journaling.

Fabric postcards with a “triangle” theme provide intriguing pieces of art in one of my daughter’s quilting groups. This exchange involved triangles; the previous one had a theme of circles.

There are various formulas based on cost of materials plus operating expenses plus an income, yet there is no absolutely fixed one. […]

Quilters and fabric artists find buttons a popular embellishment in their work. Some may sew on an occasional button. Others practically cover their piece with these interesting attachments.
I’ve always enjoyed collecting buttons, ever since I explored my grandmother’s and mother’s button jars. In days ago, ladies didn’t run to the store for buttons. They […]

With wedding quilts in mind, I discovered one in Australia. At least it’s one that’s in the making. How to Make An Australian Wedding Quilt takes us to the Land Down Under, where Megan has asked family and friends to add a square to the wedding quilt as a gift. “I have decided that I […]

Here at the Arts and Design Channel, we invite you to browse through our wedding ideas for Artists’ Showcase Theme Day. As I visited the various blogs, I realized we practically have a wedding planning guide!
The theme of “weddings” seems appropriate since summer generally is a popular time for weddings in the northern hemisphere. Also, […]
