Quilting and Patchwork

Quilt a Heart for Heart Health Month

by Mary Emma Allen on February 16th, 2007

February has been designated Heart Health Month and many activities are taking place to build awareness of this serious disease in women and men.  Quilters often participate in raising funds and awareness by donating shop proceeds, participating in walks and runs, and making quilts with heart designs for themselves and for raffles.

Quilt Blocks -Roses With Heart BackgroundI found an attractive Floral Hearts Quilt Pattern at Quiltmaker.com. The article gives you pattern and instructions for making this lovely quilt.

You can see a pattern for Scrappy Hearts at Delaware Quilts.com. There are a number of variations for some very attractive and interesting projects.

These are only two quilting projects involving hearts.  Check out your quilting books and online quilting sites, your favorite quilt or fabric shop, as well as chatting with quilting friends.
