Quilting Stamps
When I purchased stamps at the post office today, I noticed some with pictures of quilts in the display on the counter. Of course, those were the ones I bought.
They are part of the American Treasures stamp collection of art and consist of designs from The Quilts of Gee’s Bend. They’re almost too pretty to use.
I have a small 4 x 5-inch scrapbook in which I’ve been collecting stamps of different kinds, arranging them in something like an altered book. Sometimes I use stamps, other times simply the main picture which isn’t a stamp but an interesting design. Some of the quilt stamps may end up in there.
You’ll find more information about The Quilts of Gee’s Bend, the history and the quiltmakers at www.quiltsofgeesbend.com .
