Creating a Mini Quilt Album
“I need a small scrapbook,” my daughter announced, as she browsed through my scrapbooking supplies. “It should be small enough to carry in my purse.”
I had a 4 x 5-inch album she thought would work perfectly. Then Beth explained further. She posts photos of her quilts, hangings, and works-in-progress on her blog (http://meanderingthreads.blogspot.com) and has many photos saved on her computer and in a larger photo album.
“But I need a small album to carry with me to show people when they ask about my fabric art.”
What a neat idea, I thought.
When I had a quiltmaking business, I developed an album with the various quilts and patchwork products I made for customers. This was ideal to display at craft fairs and quilt shows. But I’d never thought of a smaller one I could tuck into a purse or tote bag.
In addition to photos of her projects, Beth also can do patchwork collage effects with actual fabric scraps. Her idea of a mini quilt album has me reaching for one of those 4 x 5-inch albums, too.
