Quilting and Patchwork

Round Robin Quilt Hanging Idea

by Mary Emma Allen on April 9th, 2006

My daughter described a Round Robinh quilt hanging project she and other quilters are undertaking.  It sounds fascinating.

Each quilter selects a piece of 12-inch fabric as a background.  Then she passes it to the next quilter on her list.  That person adds embellishments, other fabric, quilting, etc.

When she’s finished, it goes to another person to add her touches.  It come back to the original quilter, each receiving her own fabric art at the end of the project with contributions by all the others.

Each quilter will select a theme for her piece.  The quilters who add to it will give their interpretation of the theme by way of their contributions.

Even though this is a brief description of the project, I hope it gives you some ideas for a Round Robin of your own.
