The Versatility of Fabric Art
As I read an article, “Story Weaver,” in the April 2006 issue of the magazine, Artist’s Sketchbook, I realized how versatile fabric art has become. It may combine quilting, doll making, collage creating, and journaling in homemade fabric books.
Here, as told by writer Beth Derringer-Keith, we learn how fabric artist Lesley Riley combines these techniques to tell a story with her work. She started out with quilting and then turned her abilities to other areas of creativity using fabric and photographs.
