Quilters Cookie Exchange

by Mary Emma Allen on November 24th, 2005

Cookie exchanges have attained popularity as a way to serve many types of goodies for your holiday meals without baking so many varieties yourself. The exchange might consist of family members, neighbors, members of an organization, or a group of friends.

Why not organize a cookie exchange among your quilting friends? Especially if they live within a fairly close radius. This also serves as an occasion to get together for a quilting bee or afternoon or evening of sewing, exchanging patterns and quilting news.

Each woman brings a dozen cookies. Then they’re divided up so everyone has a variety to take home. (Of course, you might want to bring some extra to sample at the get-together…unless the hostess is providing these.)

Also, cookie exchange participants often include the recipe for the cookies they are contributing to the exchange. This could include a pattern, too, to share.
