Quilting and Patchwork

Yard Sale Bonanza

by Mary Emma Allen on November 18th, 2005

“Fat quarters!” the quilter exclaimed. “Come see them,” she called to her friend.

“I’ve found these bags of scraps. And the price isn’t bad,” her friend replied.

They were delighted that my daughter had gone through her scraps and decided she could part with some.

Now Beth would have room to browse at other yard sales and replenish her supply!

Quilters love to sort through yard sale goodies, second hand shops, consignment shops and auctions, as well as quilt shops, for items to add to their cache of fabrics and quilting supplies.

Keep this in mind when yard sale season comes around in your community or if you see sales in your travels. Sometimes you even find old quilts and patches at very reasonable prices to add to your collection.

What treasures have you found this way?
