Quilting and Patchwork

Keep a Quilting Scrapbook

by Mary Emma Allen on July 25th, 2005

I’m creating a scrapbook of my quilting adventures. This is something you might find enjoyable, too. I’m also compiling a scrapbook about the Trails End Quilters, recording my family heritage in quilting.

You can arrange your scrapbook in chronological order, starting with the first quilt or patchwork item you ever made and a journal entry about how you became interested in quiltmaking. Or you can plan it around various topics in your quilting world.

Those of you making quilts and patchwork items to sell would find it advantageous to create a promotional scrapbook of your quilts. I did this to display at quilt shows and craft fairs whenever I had a booth for selling my items.

The promotional scrapbook will tell something about you and then show pictures of the various quilts and other items you have for sale. (When I operated a quilt business, I made, in addition to quilts of various designs and sizes, placemats, potholders, table cloths, table runners, skirts, aprons, and children’s vests.)

Since your prices might change, make a price list attached to the front of the book which you also can distribute to customers with your business card.

Whether your quilting scrapbook is for your own use or to promote your products, you’ll have great enjoyment creating it.
