Sharing With Other Quilters
The opportunity to share with others my thoughts and experiences about quilts, quiltmaking and quilters opens up many exciting possibilities. As I look back over my family history and discover bits and pieces of patchwork midst family memorabilia, I realize I come from a long tradition of quiltmakers beginning at Trails End Farm, where my mother grew up and where I quilted with my grandmother at age 8.
My daughter, designer Beth Mastin, and granddaughter, Kara, have carried on this tradition and introduce me to many new ideas and techniques that didnt exist when I operated a quiltmaking business from our home.
Its also enjoyable to teach classes with Beth and Kara, something weve done in local schools. One of my favorite projects was designing a quilt involving the history of the town where the school was located. Beth incorporated easy and more difficult types of quilting so that youngsters of different ages could be involved.

How nice that your daughter and granddaughter share your passion for quilting. My mom and sister also enjoy needlecrafts with me as the ringleader. :)

Hello Lei,
Isn’t it fun when families can enjoy these activities together? My mom didn’t do much quilting, but she’s the one who encouraged me and sold my quilted and patchwork items in her country general store.
Now it’s most enjoyable that my daughter and granddaughter are carrying on this family tradition.
